Nature is both all around us and deep within us and artwork based on nature can take many forms and serve many purposes. Nature in art can take many visual forms, from photorealism to abstraction and art can mimic nature, by seeking to visually replicate objects as they actually appear in real life.

 

My illustrations are heavily influenced by my observations of plants and the landscape around me. Whilst I spend a lot of time living near the countryside, I get to really appreciate the beautiful forms, elements and wide range of colours that nature really gives, which I then use as a starting point to portray and create imaginative, abstract work using diverse mediums put together.

In my illustrations, I like to capture detail within the nature I have chosen to draw – through fine detail using black ink pen and soft, gentle colours using watercolour paint.
